Liquidity is a Luxury

I recently sat down with a multi-millionaire.

He was starting a new business and was perfectly capable of funding it himself.

Yet there he was, asking me for a loan.

His words: “I’ve been the bank. I don’t want to do it anymore.”

But the interest! A minor cost in his eyes.

The opportunity cost! Not if you value what he does.

The treasure he sought? Liquidity.

Liquidity is a luxury. Even for some who can afford to do otherwise, it’s a luxury they’re willing to buy at a premium.
